Hackers use this means because they know your friends will trust you enough to accept any idea you give them.
How to protect your WhatsApp account from being hacked
- Login to your WhatsApp account with your phone, then click on the three dots at the right hand corner in your Menu bar and click on "Settings".
- Then on the settings page, click on "Account".
- On the account page, click on "Two-Factor-Authentication" and activate it. You will be required to create a password and then confirm it. You will also provide an email address for password recovery. If you are done with this, your account is now secured, anytime you wish to login, you will be requested to enter the password before accessing your account.
How to protect your Facebook account from being Hacked
There are two ways in which you can secure your Facebook account from being hacked. You can do it by using “Trusted Contacts” or by “Two-Factor-Authentication” process. We are only going to discuss one for now, which is the simplest and most effective method, i.e. the Two-Factor-Authentication method. Once this pattern is activated, whoever tries to login to your account using another phone either from the app or web browser, a login code will be send to your phone from Facebook. Without the code you won’t be able to login to Facebook. In order to activate this pattern, follow the procedures below.
- Login to your Facebook account. At the top right hand corner of the Menu bar, click on the three dots.
- Once the Menu comes up, scroll down and click on "Settings".
- On the settings page, click on "Security and Login".
- Navigate down to where you have Use "Two-Factor-Authentication" and then click on it, as shown below.
- You will be required to enter your password. Enter your password and click on Use Text Messages. Then confirm your phone number and submit.
- Once you are done, you will receive a message from Facebook with a verification Code to be sure if you are the owner of that number. Enter the code and submit. Once you are done, Two-Factor-Authentication is now activated. You will always be sent a password if Facebook recognize that you are login into your account from a new device.
